So, this is WordPress…

Standard

…It’s all a little bit overwhelming at the moment!

I have been blogging, on and off, for years and this is my first foray into the – hopefully – WWW (Wonderful World of WordPress). I started out on Blogger (neé Blogspot) and then went to Tumblr, thinking it would be a good change. For a while, it was novel and I can certainly understand the appeal (to a certain extent) of a micro blog. The honeymoon period didn’t last long and I found myself being dragged into a seemingly endless spiral of mindless reblogging and very little actual blogging, which was the whole point of starting the thing in the first place. I certainly don’t have anything against interesting pictures, memes and  the suchlike being on blogs but when it swamps out everything else and it is nigh on impossible to search for anything to really get your teeth into, I find it starts to wear a little thin.

So, I find myself here, losing my WordPress cherry and am enjoying it immensely thus far. I considered, briefly, returning to Blogger and rekindling that relationship but thought (after reading some articles on Blogger -v- WordPress) that WordPress was the better option.

My blog — I think at the moment —  will mainly consist of general life musings, quotes that have amused me, a few ramblings, quite possibly some pictures and who knows what else.

I think that I would find it hard to dedicate a blog to any specific interest be it writing, acting, music, reading, photography, modelling or what have you as my interests are all so important to me. Not only that but I tend to flit from one area to another, never losing passion for any of my interests, but focussing at times more on one than another. At least by having them all in one blog it will result in far more consistent updates than having X amount of blogs updated sporadically as the mood takes me. Flitty, I may be, but don’t hold it against me!

Tomorrow, on my day off, my project is to bake.

Preparing to fail…or maybe be nicely surprised. Who knows?

I am planning on baking some mince pies (I know, it’s not Xmas) for my boy tomorrow for when he gets home on Friday. He has had a pretty awful week, so I thought it would be lovely for him to have something nice to come home to. I say ‘nice,’ but this is me + baking we are talking about. In theory, if baking ability were hereditary, I would be the best baker in the universe. Unfortunately, I don’t believe it is. My previous tentative adventures  into baking have always tasted good but generally look like a bomb site. While pies are what I am aiming for, there is every chance that they will turn out to be crumbly piles of pastry with mincemeat sprinkled in icing sugar.

We shall see.

I’ll take pictures.

Wish me luck!
